The Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) and CDK Integrated Industries have called for increased investment in the development of young architects to advance the nation’s construction sector. This was highlighted at the unveiling of CDK’s Ultra Polish Collection during the Archibuilt Exhibition 2024 in Abuja.
Bernard Longe, Managing Director of CDK Integrated Industries, emphasized the importance of empowering young architects. “Investing in young architects is vital to revolutionising Nigeria’s construction industry,” Longe said. As part of this effort, CDK has launched the *Innovation Challenge*, an initiative designed to recognise and reward innovative architectural designs by students in tertiary institutions across Nigeria. The goal is to foster creativity and nurture emerging talent.
“This challenge is a testament to CDK’s commitment to the future of Nigerian architecture,” Longe added, stating that the company is dedicated to cultivating forward-thinking architects and supporting industry growth.
He also praised the collaboration between CDK and NIA, noting how the partnership has strengthened the company’s reputation within the sector. Longe described CDK’s Ultra Polish Collection as a reflection of their commitment to innovation and excellence in architectural products.
Mobolaji Adeniyi, President of the Nigerian Institute of Architects, praised CDK Industries for its consistent delivery of high-quality and reliable products. “CDK has proven to be a trusted partner in Nigerian architecture, enabling architects to build both sustainably and beautifully,” Adeniyi said. He stressed the importance of events like Archibuilt, which allow professionals to exchange ideas and shape the future of Nigerian cities.
The event also facilitated discussions between architects and industry leaders, with key topics including product development and material innovation. These interactions provided insights into the evolving needs of architects, as well as potential opportunities for future collaboration.
Attendees offered feedback and recommendations on how CDK could continue to support the architectural community through tailored solutions and partnerships.
