He highlighted initiatives such as the Nigerian Gas Expansion Program (NGEP) and the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative, aiming to transition the country from an oil-based to a gas-based economy.
The Minister emphasized ongoing efforts to ensure reliable gas supply through the West African Gas Pipeline (WAGP) via N-Gas Limited, facilitating the commercialization of Eastern gas resources. Ekpo also pledged support for resolving challenges within the Escravos Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) and highlighted projects addressing pressure issues within the system.
He stressed Nigeria’s focus on gas as a primary fuel source, promoting initiatives like the CNG program and NGEP to maximize the country’s natural gas resources.
