Nigeria-Korea Friendship Institute (NKFI) Secures Full Accreditation from NBTE for Five Programs
Share

The Nigeria-Korea Friendship Institute (NKFI) located in Lokoja, Kogi State, has achieved a significant milestone by obtaining full accreditation for its five programs from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). These accredited programs include Computer Software Engineering, Welding and Fabrication, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Automotive Mechatronics Engineering, and Networking and Systems Security.

Rector Williams Charles Oluwatoyin announced this achievement during a press conference held in his office. He highlighted the institute’s dedication to providing quality education and training over the past eight years, culminating in the accreditation received in January 2024. Oluwatoyin assured prospective students and parents that the accreditation marks a new era in producing skilled and globally competitive graduates who will contribute to the industrialization of the economy.

In addition to the accredited programs, the institute’s automotive workshop, equipped with modern and digital tools, will be open to the public. Oluwatoyin encouraged people to take advantage of the workshop’s services, which can handle various vehicular faults with precision.

Furthermore, the Director General of the Government House, Shaibu Oricha, has approved scholarships for 30 individuals to study various programs at the institute. Oluwatoyin expressed gratitude to individuals and organizations, including the former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for their support and commitment to the growth and development of the institute.

The full accreditation status signifies NKFI’s readiness to fulfill its mandate of providing high-quality vocational and technical education. The institute remains committed to raising academic standards, fostering the realization of its mission and vision, and producing highly employable professionals to address unemployment challenges in Kogi State and beyond.
