The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has partnered with Afrovision Technologies Limited (Doballi), a Dubai-based AI-driven recruitment platform, to enhance global job placements for Nigerian tech professionals. The collaboration seeks to bridge employment gaps for Nigerians with high-demand digital skills by offering structured access to remote job opportunities worldwide.
The partnership, formalized under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), includes the following provisions:
– NITDA will provide a pipeline of trained and employable Nigerian tech professionals.
– Doballi will connect these professionals to international employers and waive the $150 onboarding assessment fee for Nigerian applicants.
– Doballi will also offer guidance on certification, cross-cultural training, and provide a specialized dashboard for tracking talent progress, employer feedback, and foreign currency transactions through Nigeria’s banking system.
NITDA’s Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, hailed the collaboration as a significant step toward digital job sustainability, contributing to better social and economic policy decisions. Doballi’s Country Director, Mrs. Nneoma Ijei, expressed optimism, stating that Nigeria’s young and innovative workforce is poised to play a key role in shaping the future of global technology.
This initiative aligns with Nigeria’s broader efforts to improve tech skills and job opportunities. Programs like the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) initiative aim to train three million Nigerians in digital skills by 2027. Additionally, NITDA’s collaboration with the National Universities Commission (NUC) is integrating AI, blockchain, and cybersecurity into university curricula, ensuring graduates acquire industry-relevant expertise.
For Nigerian small businesses and tech professionals, the collaboration opens access to global job markets, spurring innovation, attracting foreign investment, and fostering economic growth
