The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) announces a partnership with Entrepreneurship Village (eVillage) to foster technology innovations and inclusivity in Nigeria.

Kashifu Inuwa, the DG of NITDA, welcomed Sunil Santanam, CEO of eVillage, and his team at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja to discuss collaboration on digital infrastructure for the eVillage Innovation and Transformation Centre.

The partnership aligns with the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy’s strategic blueprint of accelerating the nation’s prosperity through technical efficiency, particularly focusing on infrastructure development.

Inuwa highlighted the alignment of the collaboration with NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2024-2027), emphasizing pillars such as building a robust technology research ecosystem and promoting inclusive access to digital infrastructure and services.

He described the proposed technology development zone as a catalyst for transformative change in the country, emphasizing the importance of creating an ecosystem to spark conversations about technology solutions for real-life problems.

The partnership aims to accelerate the establishment of technology development zones across the nation’s six geopolitical zones, with formal arrangements to be finalized through a memorandum of understanding.

Santanam expressed gratitude to NITDA for agreeing to partner with eVillage, acknowledging the privilege and potential impact of the collaboration.
