The NNPC Ltd/FIRST E&P Joint Venture has launched the ‘Impact FIRST’ program to provide vital support to NGOs addressing critical issues such as healthcare access, education, poverty alleviation, and empowerment for vulnerable and disadvantaged groups across Nigeria. Through this initiative, over fifty million naira has been donated to five outstanding NGOs.
The IREDE Foundation, Cerebral Palsy Centre, OISA Foundation, Human Development Initiatives (HDI), and Niola Cancer Care Foundation were selected as beneficiaries of financial grants following a rigorous selection process involving nominations from stakeholders.
Speaking at the grant presentation ceremony held at Movenpick Hotel, Ikoyi Lagos, representatives from NNPC Ltd emphasized the importance of corporate social responsibility and the commitment to making tangible differences in people’s lives. They highlighted the transformative impact of sustainable initiatives in fostering long-term economic empowerment and social progress.
Executive Director, Corporate Services FIRST E&P, Mr Emmanuel Etomi, reiterated the organization’s commitment to contributing to societal well-being and socio-economic development through collaboration and community engagement. Recognizing the instrumental role of NGOs in addressing diverse community needs, he emphasized the importance of partnerships to extend collective impact and address societal challenges effectively.
Each beneficiary organization received a substantial grant to support its impactful initiatives. The IREDE Foundation, known for providing custom-made prosthetic limbs to child amputees, received a grant to continue its valuable work. The Cerebral Palsy Centre, dedicated to working with children with cerebral palsy, received funding to provide quality therapy and care. The OISA Foundation, focused on transforming lives through education and healthcare interventions, received support for its scholarship and digital innovation programs. Human Development Initiatives (HDI) and Niola Cancer Care Foundation also received grants to empower vulnerable populations and expand cancer awareness and screening efforts, respectively.
In her acceptance speech, Crystal Chigbu, Founder of IREDE Foundation, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be a beneficiary and highlighted the significant impact the grant would have on providing prosthetic limbs to children in need.
