The Professor Isa Pantami Foundation (PIP Foundation) has launched its third training programme, offering free capacity-building in phone repair and artificial intelligence (AI) to more than 10,000 young Nigerians.
The initiative is designed to equip participants with practical, in-demand skills that foster self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and employability in a rapidly changing economy. According to the foundation, the programme reflects a deliberate effort to prepare Nigerian youth for opportunities emerging from the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Citing World Economic Forum data, the foundation noted that AI and other emerging technologies are expected to create about 170 million new jobs globally. The training, therefore, is positioned as a gateway for Nigerian youth to access these opportunities while also gaining vocational skills such as phone repair that directly support local economies.
Beyond technical expertise, the programme is framed as a strategic intervention to tackle unemployment, reduce dependence on limited job markets, and empower participants to create jobs for others. The foundation emphasized that this reflects a broader commitment to building a future where communities are strengthened through education, innovation, and technology.
The application portal for Gombe State residents opened on August 25 and will close on August 31, 2025. Training schedules for other states are expected to be announced soon, giving young people across the country access to the free programme.
Since its inception, the PIP Foundation has supported communities with impactful initiatives such as JAMB and university scholarships and other grassroots projects. With this new training, the foundation aims to expand its role in bridging skill gaps and ensuring Nigerian youth are positioned to thrive in both the digital economy and vocational sectors.
