PAWECA Begins Registration of 10,000 Women for N50,000 Business Grant Under Fintiri Wallet Scheme
Share

The Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) has commenced registration of 10,000 women for the Fintiri Business Wallet program across Adamawa State’s 21 local government areas.

The initiative, introduced by the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, aims to support women who run small-scale businesses with a grant of N50,000 each. The programme’s launch began on Wednesday at the Yola North local government secretariat.

Director General of PAWECA, Dr Michael Zira, said the program is focused on economic empowerment and will be rolled out in phases every three months. He noted that the business wallet scheme is expected to help women grow their enterprises and stimulate grassroots economic activity.

“This initiative is part of Governor Fintiri’s continued commitment to youth and women empowerment,” Dr Zira said. “It is a reflection of his appreciation for the support he has received over the years, and a way of giving back so women can scale up their businesses. I urge those who are not captured in this phase to be patient, as more batches will follow.”

Yola North LGA Chairman, Barrister Jibiril Ibrahim, welcomed the initiative as timely and urged beneficiaries to utilize the grant responsibly to enhance their livelihoods.

One of the beneficiaries, Maimuna Bukar, expressed gratitude for the opportunity, praying for continued wisdom and success for the governor.

The Fintiri Business Wallet is one of several grassroots economic programs launched by the state government to promote self-reliance and improve the quality of life for women and young entrepreneurs.
