PMI Rebrands Flagship Event to Elevate Africa’s Role in Global Business

The Project Management Institute (PMI) is set to enhance Africa’s role in the global business landscape with the rebranding of its flagship conference to the PMI Global Summit Series | Africa. Known for advancing project management, PMI aims to offer a unified and high-standard experience at this event, aligning it with the prestigious PMI Global Summit.

The PMI Global Summit Series | Africa will take place in Rwanda from 18th to 20th November 2024. Last year, the event in Nairobi, Kenya, attracted over 700 project professionals from across Africa and the globe. Now in its ninth year, this conference serves as a vital platform for project managers to share insights and best practices, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.

PMI’s Managing Director for Sub-Saharan Africa, George Asamani, emphasized Africa’s growing influence in global business. He noted the continent’s rising prominence, highlighted by endorsements at Davos and the inclusion of Egypt and Ethiopia in the BRICS group. “The rebranding of our flagship event recognizes Africa’s emerging role as a hub of project management expertise and innovation,” Asamani stated.

The Summit will bring together PMI members, chapter volunteers, project managers, Accredited Training Providers (ATPs), and youth. It will feature a diverse lineup of thought leaders and speakers who will discuss trends in AI, digital transformation, and sustainability within project management. The event aims to empower attendees with skills and knowledge to meet evolving business needs.

“As project management continues to be recognized as a critical skill in achieving strategic objectives, the Summit offers a rare opportunity to enhance one’s capabilities in managing complex projects,” Asamani concluded.

Details about the speakers, registration, and early bird offers will be announced soon, promising an engaging program for all attendees. PMI invites organizations to partner in sponsoring the event, offering a unique opportunity to showcase their brands to a dedicated audience of project management professionals.
