Carex has officially reintroduced its brand to the Nigerian market with a bold new Masterbrand identity and an expanded line of antibacterial products designed to meet the hygiene needs of Nigerian households. The relaunch event, held in Lagos, marked a renewed commitment to public health and daily protection through advanced germ-fighting solutions.
The refreshed Carex portfolio includes hand washes, bar soaps, and antiseptic liquids, all formulated to eliminate over one million germs in seconds while remaining gentle on the skin. The brand’s return was celebrated by media professionals, health experts, government officials, influencers, and key industry stakeholders in partnership with PZ Cussons, the brand’s parent company.
“This is more than just a brand refresh,” said Oghale Elueni, Managing Director of PZ Cussons Nigeria. “This is about a larger mission—to win the war against germs wherever you are, whether at home, school, work, or on the move.”
Head of Marketing Martha Kayode added, “This relaunch is a fresh start and a reaffirmation of our promise to Nigerian families. Every Carex product is crafted with powerful antibacterial properties while being kind to the skin.”
The event also highlighted the long-standing commercial relationship between the United Kingdom and Nigeria. British Deputy High Commissioner Jonny Baxter praised the occasion as a testament to enduring enterprise and ambition between the two nations.
“As we celebrate this milestone, we also celebrate the resilience of Nigerian consumers, the commitment of PZ Cussons, and the growing synergy between UK innovation and Nigerian potential,” he said.
Prominent public health figures echoed the importance of Carex’s renewed focus on hygiene. Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, emphasized the brand’s contribution to disease prevention, noting, “Good hygiene saves lives. Carex is helping to drive that message home.”
Lagos First Lady, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, added her support: “Promoting daily hygiene is crucial in reducing the disease burden across our communities. Carex’s dedication to this goal is both timely and commendable.”
Representing healthcare professionals, Mr. Shettima T.A, General Secretary of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), described the relaunch as a significant point in their collaboration with PZ Cussons, “guided by a shared vision of promoting health through high-quality hygiene solutions.”
The celebration included interactive product demonstrations and vibrant performances, including a cultural dance show by the troupe “Dance na the main thing” and a live set by Nigerian R\&B star Wande Coal.
“This relaunch is not just about a new look—it’s a renewed promise to protect Nigerian families,” said Adedunmola Ezichi, Carex Category Manager. “With solutions that offer both strength and gentleness, Carex is positioned as a complete hygiene brand for every Nigerian household.”
The relaunch solidifies Carex’s role as a leader in everyday hygiene and signals a stronger push to support healthier lifestyles across Nigeria.
