SoMe Solutions Launches N20 Million “Unicorn Project” to Empower Nigeria’s Women Entrepreneurs
Share

As it marks its ninth anniversary, leading PR and communications agency SoMe Solutions has unveiled The Unicorn Project, a bold ₦20 million initiative aimed at discovering, funding, and scaling Nigeria’s next iconic women-led brand.

The project is a direct response to the persistent funding gap in Nigeria’s startup ecosystem, where less than 2% of venture capital goes to female entrepreneurs. The Unicorn Project is designed to change that narrative, not just by providing capital, but by delivering a comprehensive brand transformation package that accelerates business growth and visibility.

What’s on Offer?

One standout entrepreneur will walk away with:

  • ₦500,000 in cash, and

  • A brand growth package worth ₦20 million, including:

    • Business strategy development

    • Media amplification and influencer partnerships

    • Mentorship from top industry experts

    • Strategic visibility across Africa

In total, three women-led businesses will benefit from this groundbreaking project.

Founder of SoMe Solutions, Elizabeth Osho, emphasized the program’s unique focus:

“This isn’t just funding, it’s a growth engine designed to transform potential into a household name. Countless brilliant women struggle to scale — not for lack of talent, but due to lack of tools and access. That’s what we’re offering.”

How It Works

  • Applications are now open to women entrepreneurs across Nigeria.

  • 20 finalists will be shortlisted based on brand potential and market readiness.

  • 5 entrepreneurs will pitch their business in a public showcase.

  • 3 winners will be selected through a blend of public voting and expert panel evaluation.

Prize Breakdown:

  • 🥇 1st Place (The Unicorn): ₦500,000 + ₦20M brand transformation package

  • 🥈 2nd Place: ₦350,000 + strategic business support

  • 🥉 3rd Place: ₦250,000 + expert mentorship access

According to Bola Lawal, CEO of Premia Business Network and co-convener of the project:

“A great product needs more than a voice,  it needs a powerful network, access to capital, and strategic guidance. That’s what we’re creating here.”

With The Unicorn Project, SoMe Solutions aims to:

  • Empower three women-led brands to scale across Africa

  • Inspire over 10,000 female entrepreneurs nationwide

  • Increase visibility and representation for women in business
