Step-by-Step Guide on How to Apply for the CREDICORP YouthCred Loan—(Between ₦100,000 and ₦150,000)
Share
  1. Confirm Eligibility
  • You must be a serving NYSC corps member, aged between 18–39.

  • The program is targeted toward building young Nigerians’ credit responsibly.

  1. Complete the Financial Literacy Training
  • Before applying for the loan, you must complete a mandatory digital financial literacy module covering budgeting, credit management, and credit scoring.

  1. Create Your YouthCred Account
  1. Visit the official YouthCred website: www.youthcred.com. Check here for more information

  2. Sign up or register using your personal details (name, phone, email, NYSC details). (credicorp-register.ng)

  1. Log In & Navigate to Loan Application
  • After registration and literacy training, log in to your YouthCred dashboard.

  • Go to “My Loans” or “Loans” section, then select “Apply for Loan.”

  1. Choose Loan Terms
  • Select your loan amount (typically between ₦100,000 and ₦150,000)

  • Choose a repayment period—usually aligned with your NYSC service year in monthly installments.

  1. Provide Supporting Details
  • Many platforms may ask for:

    • Reason for loan (e.g., relocation, business startup, personal items)

    • Monthly income details (NYSC allowance, secondary job if any)

    • Bank account details for loan disbursement

  1. Complete Face Capture Verification
  • A quick face capture is required using your camera to confirm identity. This is a standard step and takes seconds.

  1. Submit Your Application
  • Review your details, then submit the application. You should receive a confirmation message on the portal or by email/text.

  1. Await Approval & Disbursement
  • If approved, funds are typically disbursed within minutes into your nominated bank account.

  • In some cases, disbursement can take a few hours.

  1. Repayment Terms
  • Repayment is generally auto-debited from your NYSC allowance or done manually via bank transfer.

  • You can repay early without penalties, which improves your credit history.

  • Late repayment may affect your credit score. Contact support immediately if you have difficulty.

11. Build Credit & Unlock More

  • Timely repayments and completing financial modules help you build a solid credit score.

  • That opens eligibility for larger loans in the future.

📌 Important Notes & FAQs

  • Interest rates on YouthCred are near single‑digit, making it highly affordable.

  • No collateral or guarantors required. (youthcred.com)

  • Stay transparent and truthful; false info can delay disbursement or affect eligibility.

  • If you are not eligible (e.g., not serving NYSC), check other CREDICORP consumer credit options such as schemes available via Credit Direct, Accion MFB, or Fast Credit. These options are open to civil servants, teachers, and entrepreneurs outside NYSC. (credicorp.ng)

✅ Final Tips

  • Only apply via the official YouthCred portal to avoid scams.

  • Do not pay any fees or agents.

  • Contact support through official YouthCred support channels (email: [email protected] or [email protected]) if you encounter any issues. (youthcred.com)

Following these steps carefully will help you successfully navigate the YouthCred loan application process, access affordable credit, and begin building a strong financial foundation.
