Sterling Bank, Sun King Partner to Expand Access to Solar Energy in Nigeria
Share

Sterling Bank Limited has partnered with Sun King, a global solar energy solutions provider, to expand access to affordable solar power in Nigeria. The collaboration aims to provide flexible financing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and households to acquire solar energy systems.

Through this partnership, customers can access loans to purchase Sun King solar systems and spread payments over 48 months. Once fully paid, the system unlocks permanently, offering free energy for years. Sun King experts across Nigeria will assist customers with site inspections, installations, and servicing, backed by warranties.

Sterling Bank’s financing will enable customers to acquire Sun King’s solar home systems, which power essential appliances like lights, phone chargers, TVs, radios, and fans. The initiative also includes advanced solar inverters, such as the PowerPlay Pro and PowerHub, which can power standard AC appliances even during outages or off-grid conditions.

Ayo Falola, Group Head of Renewable Energy at Sterling Bank, emphasized the bank’s commitment to enhancing energy access, saying, “Our partnership with Sun King is a step toward a greener, brighter, and more inclusive future, ensuring small businesses and households can access clean energy without financial and infrastructural barriers.”

Eno Umoh, Sun King’s General Manager for Partnership Sales in West and Central Africa, highlighted the financial benefits of solar energy, stating that the initiative shields customers from the rising costs of generators and electricity. “Through our partnership with Sterling Bank, Sun King is enabling quick, easy access to financing, empowering families to go solar, save money, and enjoy reliable electricity,” he added.

Key benefits of the partnership include access to premium solar products, flexible financing to ease upfront costs, economic growth by supporting SMEs, and a reduced carbon footprint through increased adoption of clean energy solutions.

The partnership reinforces both brands’ commitment to advancing Nigeria’s renewable energy transition and supporting sustainable development. Interested customers can explore the offerings at Sterling Bank branches or Sun King retail locations nationwide.
