**Tanzania Strengthens Trade Ties with Nigeria, Invites African Investment in Key Sectors**
The Tanzania High Commission in Nigeria has reaffirmed its dedication to strengthening trade and bilateral ties with Nigeria and other West African nations, following Tanzania’s participation in the recent Lagos International Trade Fair. Acting High Commissioner Judica Nagunwa, represented by Economic Affairs Officer Edna Sylvester, emphasized that Tanzania’s presence at the event is part of its broader economic diplomacy strategy.
Nagunwa noted that showcasing Tanzanian products like coffee, tea, spices, wine, and leather goods at international trade fairs aligns with the country’s commitment to increasing intra-African trade under the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA). “As part of our economic diplomacy efforts, we participate in international trade fairs to showcase Tanzanian products and engage Nigerian importers interested in sourcing them,” she stated.
The High Commission also highlighted Tanzania’s potential in tourism, mining, agriculture, real estate, and the blue economy, inviting Nigerian businesses to explore investment opportunities in these sectors. “We’re here to answer questions and provide information on Tanzania’s investment prospects and visa processes for those interested in visiting,” Nagunwa added.
With a strategic location along the Indian Ocean, Tanzania is positioning itself as a gateway to East and Central Africa, appealing to foreign investors. “We invite Nigerian investors to explore these opportunities,” Nagunwa said, emphasizing Tanzania’s investment-friendly policies aimed at fostering foreign business expansion in East Africa.
Through such engagements, Tanzania continues to strengthen its role as a key player in Africa’s economic growth and trade integration.
