TD Africa, Enugu Tech Festival Launch Free Cybersecurity & Data Science Training for Young Africans
Share

TD Africa, in partnership with the Enugu Tech Festival (ETF) and the Enugu State Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, has launched a fully sponsored training initiative, “Code Your Defence,” aimed at equipping young Africans with practical skills in Cybersecurity and Data Science.

As digital transformation accelerates across Africa, the demand for professionals who can protect digital infrastructure and leverage data for decision-making continues to grow. The programme blends foundational learning with hands-on, industry-relevant training to ensure participants graduate job-ready.

Fridel Makun, Head of Marketing at TD Africa, said: “Africa’s digital future will be shaped by people who are equipped, not just inspired. ‘Code Your Defence’ expands access to training that builds confidence, competence, and career readiness. By investing in cybersecurity and data science, we’re helping young Africans gain globally relevant skills in industries that urgently need them.”

Selected participants will enjoy free professional training, globally recognised certification, and pathways to internships, job placements, and career advancement. The programme welcomes students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals, with no prior advanced experience required just a strong willingness to learn.

Training begins January 19, 2026, and slots are limited. Early registration is encouraged. The initiative highlights a commitment to closing Africa’s digital skills gap and creating a future-ready workforce capable of securing systems, unlocking the value of data, and supporting sustainable development.
