Teach For Nigeria Hosts 2025 Education Innovation Pitch, Backs Social Enterprises for Systemic Impact
Share

Teach For Nigeria (TFN), in partnership with Oando Foundation, Enterprise Development Centre and Wema Bank, has concluded the 2025 edition of its Incubation Hub Pitch Competition, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing education-focused social enterprises across the country.

Held in Lagos, the competition brought together policymakers, industry leaders and development partners to witness 12 alumni entrepreneurs pitch innovative solutions designed to address some of Nigeria’s most pressing education challenges. The platform was established to equip young social innovators with enterprise development skills, mentorship and access to funding.

Speaking at the event, TFN Chief Executive Officer Molade Adeniyi said the Incubation Hub represents the organisation’s long-term vision to empower its alumni to drive systemic change in education. She explained that the 2025 edition trained 30 entrepreneurs, selected from 87 applicants, through a three-month programme combining business development, mentorship and impact strategy.

Since its inception in 2020, the hub has supported more than 60 education-focused ventures, disbursed over N10 million in seed funding, and reached more than 2,500 educators and 15,000 children nationwide. The 2025 cohort featured innovations spanning EdTech and digital learning, gender equality and inclusive education, climate education, teacher development and data-driven policy.

A panel of judges drawn from partner organisations, including Oando Foundation, British Council, Wema Bank and Alpha Michelle Appraisals, evaluated the finalists. Founder of Scholaride Initiative, Adetomiwa Awofeso, emerged overall winner for his literacy and numeracy intervention targeting children in Makoko through community learning hubs and the Teaching at the Right Level methodology. Olayinka Adeosun of STEAM Dock was named first runner-up, while Emmanuel Epueme of CareerLab secured second runner-up.

In a goodwill message, the Chairman of the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission, Mrs Victoria Mopelola Peregrino, commended TFN’s sustained impact in advancing education equity and leadership development, urging continued collaboration to scale such grassroots innovations for national impact.
