Terra Kulture, through its Terra Academy for the Arts (TAFTA) project, in partnership with Mastercard Foundation, has announced applications for entries to empower over 65,600 Nigerian youths.
Terra Kulture plans to do this with the launch of a new learning cohort for its art academy, TAFTA.
Applications for the free training would be accepted starting on August 15 and running till September 15 of 2022.
Over 2,000 students have been trained through impactful courses taught by carefully chosen industry professionals since the academy’s launch.
Commenting on the programme’s launch, the chief executive officer of Terra Kulture, Bolanle Austen-Peters, said: “we are delighted to formally launch a platform that provides free education and employment opportunities for youths seeking to thrive in arts and business.”
Austen-Peters stressed that, TAFTA’s purpose is to provide youth, especially females, with foundational training, support, internships, employment opportunities, and connections to financial services.
Austen-Peters said that TAFTA’s goal is to give young people—especially women—basic training, support, internships, job chances, and linkages to financial services.
Regarding the academy’s entry requirement, Austen-Peters said: “the entry requirement is a minimum of senior secondary school qualifications. All classes will include an introductory section taught in English; however, local instructors will be available at each centre to assist students if any translation of course material is needed.”
Terra Kulture is dedicated to highlighting Nigeria’s vibrant linguistic diversity, fine arts, and cultural traditions. through a variety of prominent initiatives and productions, including TAFTA. TAFTA plans to provide outreach at a reasonable cost by training 65,000 kids over the course of five years. TAFTA will generate at least 59,040 new jobs and entrepreneurial possibilities assuming a 10% attrition rate.
