Enterprise IT and cloud services provider Tier 5 Technologies has entered into a strategic partnership with MongoDB to unlock Africa’s digital economy potential, which is projected to reach $100 billion. The collaboration also signals Tier 5’s planned expansion into the West African market, with a key focus on Nigeria.
The partnership was officially launched during the recent “Legacy Modernisation Day” event held in Lagos, where both companies emphasized the need to modernize enterprise infrastructure and support the next wave of digital innovation on the continent.
MongoDB’s Regional Director for the Middle East and Africa, Anders Irlander Fabry, described the move as a critical step toward strengthening the company’s footprint in Nigeria. He highlighted Tier 5 Technologies’ role as a valuable partner with deep local networks, enterprise engagement, and a clear commitment to MongoDB’s platform.
“Tier 5 Technologies brings a proven track record, a strong local network, and a clear commitment to MongoDB as their preferred data platform,” he said. “They’ve already shown dedication by hiring MongoDB-focused sales specialists, connecting us with C-level executives, and closing enterprise deals in Nigeria in record time.”
Tier 5 Technologies’ Director of Sales, Afolabi Bolaji, said the partnership represents a broader shift in how global tech players are viewing Africa—not just as a market, but as a hub of future innovation.
“This isn’t just a reseller deal. We’ve made significant investments in MongoDB because we believe it will power the next generation of African innovation,” Bolaji stated. “From agile fintech startups to long-standing banks, many of our clients already rely on MongoDB. Now they’ll benefit from enterprise-level features, local support, and global expertise.”
Bolaji added that the increasing demand for tech solutions in sectors such as fintech, logistics, artificial intelligence, and education technology makes the partnership especially timely. He said the collaboration reflects a long-term commitment to shaping how Africa builds its digital economy from the ground up.
