Transactpay-OPay Deal Opens 40 Million Wallets to Nigerian SMEs
Share

Transactworld Digital, a Central Bank of Nigeria-licensed fintech firm and operator of Transactpay, has launched a direct integration with mobile money giant OPay. This new partnership allows businesses in Nigeria to receive payments directly from over 40 million OPay wallet users — including more than 10 million active daily transactors — without relying on websites, third-party apps, or redirects.

The integration is designed to simplify digital payments for Nigerian small and medium-sized enterprises, particularly those in cash-heavy sectors or with limited access to digital infrastructure.

Transactworld Digital’s CEO said the move was a deliberate effort to give local entrepreneurs simple access to modern payment tools without the complexity and high costs often associated with traditional fintech platforms. With this integration, merchants using Transactpay can now initiate and complete customer transactions entirely within the OPay ecosystem. Settlements are instant, offering businesses real-time transaction tracking and faster access to cash.

The benefits are far-reaching. By connecting with over 40 million verified wallets and gaining exposure to more than 10 million daily payment opportunities, merchants can bypass the need for expensive marketing strategies or a strong digital presence. This enables businesses to plug directly into one of Nigeria’s most widely used mobile payment platforms.

Industry observers view this as a strategic push that positions Transactpay as a key growth enabler for SMEs, retail operators, and digital service providers. Transactworld Digital’s merchant network already covers sectors such as logistics, hospitality, food services, beauty, and the creative economy — all of which stand to gain from improved reach and streamlined payments.

Through this partnership, Transactworld Digital is shifting the focus from building complex product features to expanding customer access. With the backing of OPay’s widespread user base, the company is offering everyday businesses in Nigeria a practical way to scale by leveraging familiar and widely used mobile money systems.

Transactworld Digital Services Ltd. is a Nigerian fintech licensed by the Central Bank as a Payment Solution Service Provider. Its flagship platform, Transactpay, supports local and international transactions via bank transfers, cards, QR codes, and now, OPay wallets.
