Umi Mentorship Program For Africans 2026

The Umi Mentorship Program is one of the flagship initiatives of Umi, created to support new mothers and mums of children under three years old in becoming better versions of themselves as mothers, wives, partners, and professionals. The program connects them with experienced mothers who have successfully balanced motherhood, career, and personal growth, providing a nurturing space to learn, share, and thrive.

Launched in June 2023, the program is designed for mothers who want to pursue fulfilling careers without compromising on their family life. Since its inception, Umi has paired mothers from 15 African countries, including Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, as well as those living in South Africa and the United Kingdom, with mentors who guide them through both their professional and motherhood journeys.

Benefits
Every new mum selected for the Umi Mentorship Program will enjoy:

  • Pairing with an experienced mentor who is excelling both professionally and as a parent, for a 3-month mentorship journey.

  • Peer mentorship with four other mums in your Umi mini-circle — your personal board of advisors and accountability partners.

  • Weekly workshops and reflection sessions focused on mental and physical well-being, business and career growth, and family relationships throughout the 12-week program.

  • Access to a professional therapist to provide personal and emotional support during the program.

Eligibility

  • You are an African mum living either in Africa or in the diaspora.

  • Your child is between 0 and 3 years old.

  • You are eager to become a better mother and professional.

  • You are open to being paired with an experienced mum who has walked a similar path before.

Program Duration
The Umi Mentorship Program runs for three months. The next cohort will take place from February to April 2026.
