Unity Bank Plc has raised the stakes for winners of its Corpreneurship Challenge, increasing the prize money to N16 million per stream. The initiative aims to boost start-up capital and provide more resources to aspiring young entrepreneurs in Nigeria.
Winners of the business pitch will now receive N800,000, N500,000, and N300,000 for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions respectively, compared to previous editions where lower amounts were awarded.
Adenike Ambimbola, Divisional Head of Retail and SME Banking, praised participating Corps Members for their quality business plans and affirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurship development.
Dr. Opeyemi Ojesina, Head of SME Banking at Unity Bank, highlighted the Corpreneurship Challenge’s impact on youth empowerment and job creation, emphasizing the program’s innovative approach in nurturing aspiring entrepreneurs.
The initiative, launched in 2019 and expanded to 10 states in 2020, is promoted in partnership with the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) scheme, providing a platform for participants to pitch their business plans and win grants.
