Wema Bank has disbursed a total of N11 million to 131 women across Nigeria in the latest edition of its 5 for 5 Promo, held in celebration of Women’s Month. The draw took place in Aba, with winners emerging from different parts of the country.

Launched in 2021, the 5 for 5 Promo is Wema Bank’s initiative to reward customer loyalty. Over three seasons, the bank has distributed more than N150 million to 2,378 Nigerians across all six geopolitical zones. Since the current season began in October 2024, over N50 million has been awarded through daily, weekly, and monthly draws.

For the fifth monthly draw in March, the bank dedicated the N11 million cash prize exclusively to women. Among the top winners were Ogechukwu Ani from Aba, Vanessa Ogbonna from Lagos, and Mubarakaht Alowonle from Bodija, each receiving N1 million. Other winners included eight domiciliary account holders who won N250,000 each, 40 women who received N100,000 each, and 80 winners who got N25,000 each.

Wema Bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Moruf Oseni, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to empowering women, highlighting its long-standing mission of financial inclusion. He emphasized that the bank has been intentional about closing gender gaps through its women-focused initiatives, including “SARA by Wema.”

“We have simply leveraged the 5 for 5 Promo as one more way of supporting women this Women’s Month,” Oseni stated. “For us, it’s all about impact, and we are delighted to have put smiles on the faces of Nigerian women across the country.”

In addition to the promo, Wema Bank marked International Women’s Day with an event reinforcing its commitment to supporting women in business and financial independence.
