Share

WhatsApp has rolled out exciting new features in its latest iOS update (version 24.25.93), enhancing user experience with augmented reality (AR) effects, customizable backgrounds, and an integrated document scanning tool. These additions aim to simplify tasks and make interactions more engaging.

Key Features in the Latest Update

  1. AR Effects in Camera
    • Users can now apply augmented reality (AR) effects directly from the camera viewfinder.
    • A wand icon next to the gallery button enables creative effects like confetti, starry windows, underwater themes, and more.
  2. Customizable Backgrounds
    • New background options allow users to obscure the environment during video captures.
    • The feature includes color tone adjustments for a polished and professional video look.
  3. Integrated Document Scanning Tool
    • WhatsApp introduces a built-in document scanner accessible via the document-sharing option.
    • Features include:
      • Filters: Color, grayscale, and black-and-white for clarity.
      • Auto-cropping: Automatically adjusts borders for a clean scan.
      • Auto-shutter: Captures documents when properly aligned in the viewfinder.

Building on its recent festive updates, WhatsApp has introduced:

  • New visual effects for video calls.
  • Themed animations and stickers to complement celebratory moods.

The features are available for users who have updated to the latest version of WhatsApp on iOS. The integration of AR effects and document scanning makes WhatsApp more versatile, catering to both creative and practical needs.

Why It Matters

These updates highlight WhatsApp’s ongoing commitment to improving functionality and user engagement. Whether it’s making video chats more vibrant or simplifying document sharing, these features enhance the app’s usability and relevance in everyday communication.
