Winock Solar Secures $1.6 Million Funding to Expand Affordable Energy Access for Micro-Businesses
Share

Winock Solar, a Nigerian solar branding and distribution company, has secured $1.6 million in equity funding from Acumen Fund Inc. and All On Partnerships for Energy Access. This investment will focus on providing affordable, clean energy solutions to low-income earners and micro-businesses in Nigeria, addressing the country’s growing energy access gap.

The funding will enable Winock Solar to launch innovative solar products, including a 1-kilowatt solar system designed for micro-businesses and underserved communities. CEO Sanmi Lajuwomi expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “This investment brings us closer to a future where all Nigerians, regardless of income level, can rely on sustainable energy solutions to power their businesses and improve their quality of life.”

Acumen Fund’s Associate Director, Bowofade Elegbede, commended Winock Solar’s efforts in tackling energy challenges, while Caroline Eboumbou, CEO of All On, reiterated their commitment to supporting initiatives that offer clean, inclusive energy solutions.

This funding represents a significant step towards addressing Nigeria’s energy needs, particularly for underserved and low-income communities, as Winock Solar works to empower businesses with reliable and affordable energy.
