Workplace Women, a non-governmental organization, has initiated its maiden edition of the Pitch-a-Fix program to empower one million women to build successful businesses by 2035. The program aims to bridge the funding gap for female entrepreneurs by providing access to up to N50 million in funding for business growth. Twenty female finalists will have the opportunity to access funds through debt investment or equity this year.
The Workplace Women organization was established to address the challenges faced by women in the workplace and to provide support for their career pursuits and family responsibilities. Founder Kelechi Mbah emphasized the organization’s commitment to equipping women with the skills to excel in their careers and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Co-founder Shola Odeyinde highlighted the potential impact of the initiative, stating that it aims to create a minimum of 1000 jobs annually. The Pitch-a-Fix program is part of a broader range of initiatives offered by Workplace Women, including monthly breakfast meetings, employability workshops, leadership conferences, networking events, mentorship programs, and social justice projects.
Co-founder and Community Director Ruth Egbe invited individuals, organizations, and investors to partner in the transformative journey of empowering women and fostering economic growth. The final pitch event is scheduled for March 9, 2024, marking an important milestone in the initiative’s efforts to support female entrepreneurs.
