The World Trade Centre (WTC) in Abuja has unveiled plans to introduce new amenities in 2025, marking a significant move to revolutionise Nigeria’s property sector and drive global trade. Speaking at the Centre’s year-end business and networking event, Vice President Mr. Ahmed Karim Adelaja highlighted the ongoing efforts to enhance the WTC’s role in supporting real estate growth, trade, and innovation.
Adelaja emphasized that WTC Abuja is not just a landmark but a strategic gateway to global trade, with a mission to attract international brands, foster innovation, and open up global opportunities for Nigerian businesses. As part of its new initiatives, WTC Abuja is set to launch a Trade Accelerator Programme aimed at preparing local businesses for the global market.
Among the exciting developments, WTC will also introduce an exclusive clubhouse in 2025, designed to enhance the community well-being of residents while fostering recreation and culture. By the third quarter of the year, the Centre plans to set a new standard for security, integrating advanced technology to make it the most secure commercial hub in Nigeria.
In addition, WTC Abuja will lead a business delegation to the Global Business Forum in Marseille, France, in April, further strengthening trade relations and promoting Nigeria’s presence on the global stage.
The Centre has also signed two key memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and AfriLabs, a network of over 450 innovation hubs across Africa. These partnerships aim to boost trade, innovation, and entrepreneurship, focusing on areas such as joint trade missions, business matchmaking, and capacity-building programs. The collaboration with AfriLabs will also promote digital trade and technology commercialization, opening new opportunities in sectors like agriculture, health, and education.
Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, in a goodwill message, reaffirmed the importance of infrastructure development, including export hubs, in Nigeria’s goal of becoming a leading export economy. The strategic partnerships and new initiatives at WTC Abuja underscore Nigeria’s push to enhance its global trade competitiveness and drive economic growth.
