Zenith Energy Enzymes, an eco-conscious organization, has introduced “Home Farming For All” kits for members of the Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero constituency in Kwara state. The managing director, Edith Anekwe, emphasized that the program’s vision is to ensure food security and sufficiency in Kwara and Nigeria.
Anekwe highlighted the significance of home farming in addressing food security challenges, especially in light of the current administration’s focus on declaring a state of emergency on food security. The kits contain organic fertilizers, seeds, and feeds, enabling households to grow their own food easily and affordably.
To support the initiative, Zenith Energy Enzymes plans to employ 1000 extension officers in the state to train people on successful home farming practices. Hon. Raheem Olawuyi, a member of the Federal House of Representatives for the constituency, emphasized the importance of promoting self-sufficiency in food production to reduce food costs and empower communities.
Olawuyi highlighted the alignment of the program with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, which prioritizes agricultural development for national growth and self-reliance. He also praised Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s commitment to agricultural development, instrumental in making the program a reality in Kwara.
Umar Mahmud, Chairman of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Kwara Chapter, commended the initiative for targeting farmers, the majority population in the state. Kwara Deputy Governor, Kayode Alabi, lauded the lawmaker for prioritizing his constituency and urged recipients to use the kits judiciously.
The symbolic presentation of the organic kits to farmers marked the launch of the program, which aims to empower communities and contribute to Nigeria’s agricultural development. Zenith Energy Enzymes, known for its eco-conscious products, continues to promote sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship through innovative solutions.
