One million young Nigerians are set to benefit from the Computerize Nigeria Initiative, a one-computer-per-child program launched by Zinox Technologies in partnership with KongaCares.
The partnership, unveiled at the GITEX Nigeria 2025 in Lagos, is one of the boldest corporate social responsibility efforts in the nation’s tech sector. It seeks to provide laptops alongside digital infrastructure, uninterrupted power through iPower inverters, reliable Internet via Starlink, as well as ongoing training and after-sales support.
The launch gathered ICT leaders, including Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of Zinox Group; Kelechi Eze-Okonta, Managing Director of Zinox Technologies; Dave Omoregie, COO of Konga Group; and Ajibade Laolu-Adewale, Executive Director at Wema Bank and Executive Chairman at CeBIH.
Eze-Okonta emphasised that Zinox maintains a presence in all 774 local government areas to drive the initiative nationwide.
“If you don’t digitise the education system, you can’t digitise the economy,” she said.
President of the Nigeria Computer Society, Dr Muhammed Sirajo Aliyu, commended Zinox for consistently championing affordable digital education solutions, calling the initiative a “landmark effort” that could transform classrooms across Nigeria.
The event climaxed with a ₦10 million donation from Ekeh to support NCS activities, as he reiterated his vision of equipping every Nigerian school with digital tools.
“At the heart of the Computerise Nigeria Initiative is the vision of each child having a computer. With flexible, interest-free payment options, we are breaking financial barriers and making access to technology inclusive,” Ekeh stated.
Backed by quarterly donor reports, the programme ensures transparency for contributors from government agencies to NGOs and alumni associations while building a digitally oriented future for Nigerian youths.
Beyond classrooms, the initiative is also expected to stimulate Nigeria’s digital economy by preparing a generation of young people with the skills and tools needed for innovation, entrepreneurship, and competitiveness in the global tech space.
