115 Ogun Youths Benefit from a Start-Up Grants for Entrepreneurial Empowerment
Share

Over 115 youths from Ogun State have received start-up grants from the Abike Amosun Foundation, aimed at promoting self-reliance and entrepreneurship. The beneficiaries, primarily from Ayetoro-Yewa in the Yewa North Local Government Area, were selected through a one-day business empowerment program organized by the Foundation in collaboration with the Ayetoro Youths Association.

The event, which took place at the New Gbadebo Omidokun Hall in Ayetoro, is part of the Foundation’s initiative to shift the focus of youths from illicit activities, such as smuggling, to legitimate, profitable ventures that contribute to society. The founder of the Foundation, Toluwalope Abike Amosun, highlighted the program’s role in providing crucial support to rural communities, emphasizing the importance of empowering youths with skills and knowledge to become self-sufficient and successful entrepreneurs.

The training covered a range of skills, including shoe making, bag making, catering, Alaga services, decoration, arts and crafts, graphic design, and fashion design, and was attended by over 600 youths from the local area. This program underscores the Foundation’s commitment to fostering economic growth and youth empowerment in Ogun State.
