In the vibrant aftermath of Nigeria’s Independence Day, Ibadan, Oyo State, emerged as a hub of entrepreneurial energy. The occasion, named ‘The Largest Gathering of Entrepreneurs in Oyo State (LAGEO)’, was orchestrated by the Ibadan Entrepreneur Network (IEN) in collaboration with the Oyo State Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives.
Taking place on October 2, 2023, at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba, Ibadan, this event was a remarkable assembly of dignitaries, exceptional individuals, and a diverse array of entrepreneurs. They came together not only to exhibit their talents but also to share their business ideas and the extraordinary journeys that brought them here.
What set this exhibition apart was the sheer diversity of businesses on display. It encompassed not only small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) but also corporate entities.
Among the entrepreneurs, one luminary shone brightly: Oduntan Oluwatobi, a visionary businessman and farmer. He distinguished himself by introducing processed poultry products to the exhibition market.
Oluwatobi’s foray into poultry farming was ignited by a desire to address the demand for top-quality poultry products in Nigeria, ultimately bolstering food security across Africa. With unwavering determination and a profound love for poultry, Oluwatobi revolutionized the agricultural landscape. His integrated farming approach encompasses poultry and fish production, livestock processing, packaging, and a wide array of poultry services.
Being the pioneer of processed poultry products at the exhibition, Oluwatobi left a significant mark. His stall showcased an extensive range of offerings, from whole chicken and turkey products to drumsticks, thighs, heads, and leg cuts. Additionally, fresh eggs were available for purchase.
Visitors were not only impressed by the superior quality and freshness of the products but also by Oluwatobi’s innovative approach to poultry farming.
The event attracted a distinguished audience, including government officials, prominent business figures, scholars, and industry leaders. They recognized the pivotal role of nurturing and bolstering the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Ibadan and Nigeria at large.
