ANWBN Advocates for Women-Owned Businesses' Growth in Nigeria
Share

The Association of Nigerian Women Business Networks (ANWBN) is championing a supportive economic atmosphere for the advancement of women-led businesses in Nigeria. During the ANWBN 2023 Summit and 10th anniversary celebration in Abuja, the National Coordinator, Mrs. Ajala Angela, emphasized the need for collaboration and progress with the theme, “Decade of celebration, work together, walk far.”

ANWBN, comprising 75 associations and growing, boasts a membership of approximately four million women across Nigeria. Mrs. Ajala reflected on the remarkable journey of unity, empowerment, and advocacy over the past ten years, expressing gratitude for the collective impact achieved.

She emphasized that ANWBN stands as a testament to the resilience and commitment of women shaping a brighter, more equitable future. Looking forward, six major initiatives are set to launch, shaping the path for future endeavors. Challenges may persist, but unity provides the strength to surmount obstacles, the wisdom to navigate, and the heart to inspire meaningful change.

Mrs. Saudatu Mahdi, Secretary of the board of trustees, stressed the vital role of a conducive business environment in enabling the success and growth of women-owned businesses. She emphasized that thriving women entrepreneurs do not necessarily require immense capital, but rather a supportive ecosystem encompassing production, consumption, and competition.

Echoing this sentiment, Mrs. Moji Makanjuola, the FCT zonal coordinator, highlighted ANWBN’s platform as a catalyst for women to network, build capacity, and contribute to the nation’s economy. The platform serves as a unified space for women to enhance their diverse businesses under one umbrella, utilizing it as a gateway to the world.
