The SheEnabled project, the seventh phase of the Enterprise, Growth and Opportunities (EGO) Foundation, has successfully empowered over 1,000 women-owned Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Orile Iganmu, Lagos.
In collaboration with Access Bank and Worden HCD, the EGO Foundation equipped women with comprehensive financial inclusion and literacy initiatives, aiming to tackle poverty and gender inequality.
The seven-day event featured artisan cluster engagements, access to funding engagement by the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), and a one-day in-house training session covering bookkeeping, financial inclusion, digital literacy, and savings for investment.
Speakers such as Ifeoluwa Oyeyipo from Access Bank and Olaoluwa Odugbesan from LSETF provided valuable insights during the event.
Ghazali Abdulmuizz, Programs Associate at EGO Foundation, emphasized that SheEnabled is more than just an event; it’s a movement empowering women to thrive in various aspects of their lives.
Additionally, the project addressed immediate needs in the community by distributing palliatives to over 500 women, recognizing the importance of holistic well-being and addressing both immediate and long-term health concerns amidst the current economic challenges facing the country.
