Junior Achievement Africa, in collaboration with Delta Airlines, has trained 30 secondary school girls from Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa in a regional LEAD Camp program held in Ghana. The four-month training focused on entrepreneurship and social impact, aiming to empower young girls to become leaders in their communities and succeed in the global economy.
Selected from over 300 top-performing students who completed innovation camps and entrepreneurial skills training in their countries, the participants underwent workshops, mentorship sessions, and hands-on activities to develop essential leadership qualities.
Representing Nigeria were Aliyah Fasasi, Tayelolu Samuel, Chisom Okechukwu, Hafeezah Akinwunmi, Mariam Ajiboye, Esther Atiye, Blessing Omogunloye, Anuoluwapo Oyebola, Aliyat Hamzat, and Fauziyyah Olatunde, accompanied by Kilali David-West from Junior Achievement Nigeria and Omolaoye Adebisi from Lagos State Education District IV.
Olaolu Akogun, Acting Executive Director of Junior Achievement Nigeria, expressed gratitude to Delta Airlines for empowering more girls in Africa and fostering the development of future female leaders. He emphasized the participants’ commitment, perseverance, and progress throughout the innovation program, highlighting their potential to make a significant impact in their communities and the global economy.
