Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central, has launched an initiative in partnership with the Bank of Industry (BoI) to empower local entrepreneurs through federal loan programs and financial management training. Held at the Petroleum Training Institute in Effurun, the workshop introduced small and medium-scale business owners to critical federal loan opportunities and essential financial literacy skills.
With robust attendance from community leaders and entrepreneurs, the event highlighted practical ways for local businesses to access federal resources and elevate their operations. “This workshop connects you with vital resources and reveals a range of federal opportunities to support your growth,” Dafinone said, underscoring the initiative’s focus on immediate economic empowerment.
Packqueens Irabor, BoI’s Divisional Head for MSMEs in the South-South and South-East, praised the initiative, bringing attention to a N200 billion federal intervention fund available across various sectors. She noted that the workshop provided an essential platform for raising awareness about these funding options, enhancing entrepreneurs’ ability to harness government-backed financial tools.
Senator Dafinone encouraged participants to disseminate the knowledge gained throughout their communities, stressing the importance of financial literacy and responsible borrowing. He urged attendees to see BoI loans as development tools that require diligent management and repayment, supporting sustainable growth and business resilience within Delta State.
