The Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) has strengthened its commitment to female entrepreneurship by partnering with Women in Management, Business, and Public Service (WIMBIZ) to support women-led businesses. As part of this initiative, NBC awarded a N1 million grant to Achiv Ngusurun, a pastry chef and entrepreneur recognized for her innovative business ideas, at the 23rd Annual WIMBIZ Conference in Lagos.
Ngusurun, who excelled during a competitive pitch session, was lauded for her potential to contribute to economic growth through her pastry business. Expressing gratitude, she credited NBC and WIMBIZ for their vital role in fostering female entrepreneurship, saying, “This grant will fuel my business’s growth and empower my journey.”
Jolomi Fawehinmi, NBC’s Director of People and Culture, emphasized the company’s commitment to advancing economic inclusion for women. “Presenting this grant to such a remarkable entrepreneur fills us with immense pride and purpose,” Fawehinmi said, noting that NBC sees support for female success as not just a choice, but a “responsibility.” He added, “When women succeed, they uplift families, communities, and entire nations.”
NBC’s collaboration with WIMBIZ extends beyond financial assistance; the partnership also creates valuable networking and learning opportunities for NBC’s female delegates and other young professionals. Participants engaged with industry leaders, broadened their networks, and gained insights to propel their careers forward.
WIMBIZ underscored its dedication to fostering career advancement and collaboration among women in Nigeria, providing a dynamic space for emerging and established female leaders to connect and grow.
