The Association of Nigerian Women Business Network (ANWBN) has unveiled the Women Economic Empowerment for Widows, Women Entrepreneurs, and Vulnerable Women (WEE 4 3WS) initiative, aimed at fostering financial independence and sustainable development for women in Nigeria.
Speaking at the launch event held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hall in Alausa, Ikeja, ANWBN National Coordinator, Otunba Gbemisola Oduntan, described the program as a transformative effort to bridge economic gaps and unlock opportunities for women. “This initiative seeks to empower women as leaders, innovators, and collaborators in building a more inclusive future,” she said.
Oduntan highlighted the program’s focus on providing essential resources, market access, and financial tools to support women’s success. She urged participants to embrace self-reliance, stop complaining, and actively pursue growth. Banks were also invited to offer financial assistance for meaningful ventures.
Dr. Funke Bolujoko, Founder of Master Tea, delivered a virtual keynote address, encouraging women to view failure as a pathway to success. She emphasized resilience, strategic alliances, and ethical practices, citing Chief Rasak Akanni Okoya’s entrepreneurial journey as a model for persistence and ambition.
A panel discussion on “Sustainable Growth for Women-led Businesses” featured Mrs. Toki Mabogunje, a lawyer, who advised women to prioritize excellence, financial literacy, and professional support. She emphasized proactive efforts, urging participants to pursue knowledge and entrepreneurship training.
With its WEE 4 3WS program, ANWBN reinforces its commitment to empowering women and driving economic transformation in Nigeria.
