Foundation Awards N3.25 Million Grants to NYSC Members to Boost Businesses

The Activate Success International Foundation (ASIF) has disbursed N3.25 million in grants to five National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to support their business ventures.

The presentation, held at the NYSC headquarters in Abuja, saw three beneficiaries receiving N750,000 each, while two others were awarded N500,000 each.

ASIF’s founder, Love Idoko Uloko, emphasized that the initiative is aimed at reducing youth unemployment by empowering young Nigerians to realize their entrepreneurial ambitions. She explained that the recipients were selected through a rigorous, transparent process, highlighting their creativity, resilience, and clear vision for their businesses.

Uloko noted that ASIF has transformed the lives of about 53 corps members through similar grants. She shared success stories, including Macauley Olayemi, who built a thriving cake business, and Mbuotidem John, whose seafood enterprise expanded into a large-scale fish farm with ASIF’s support.

“These stories show the immense potential of empowering young people to pursue their dreams rather than fall victim to societal vices,” she said.

Addressing the challenges of youth unemployment in Nigeria, Uloko stressed that the foundation’s efforts aim to spark innovation and self-reliance among the youth, fostering future leaders capable of transforming their communities.

She added, “ASIF is committed to scaling this program to reach more Nigerian youths, ensuring they have the mentorship, tools, and resources needed to succeed. We envision a Nigeria where every dream is within reach.”

Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Yusha’u Ahmed, praised ASIF for its dedication to empowering corps members, describing the initiative as a significant step in combating unemployment.
