JMG Underscores Critical Role of Engineers in Advancing SDGs
Share

JMG Limited, a leading electro-mechanical solutions provider in Nigeria, has join used the global community in celebrating World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development, emphasizing the crucial role engineers play in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This year’s theme, “Unleashing the Power of Engineers to Advance the Sustainable Development Goals,” aligns with JMG’s dedication to innovation, energy efficiency, and sustainability. The company continues to drive progress in Nigeria’s energy and engineering landscape, offering solutions that support the transition to renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure.

World Engineering Day, observed annually on March 4, highlights the contributions of engineers to technological advancements and global development. Additionally, Solar Appreciation Day, also marked in March, raises awareness about the importance of solar energy in reducing reliance on fossil fuels and accelerating the transition to clean power sources.

As the demand for renewable energy grows, engineers play a pivotal role in designing and implementing sustainable solutions. JMG’s Group General Manager, Rabi Jammal, underscored this transformative impact, stating: “Engineering remains at the heart of innovation, infrastructure, and energy transformation. As we celebrate World Engineering Day and Solar Appreciation Day, we reaffirm our dedication to fostering solutions that drive sustainable development, particularly in renewable energy.”

To mark these global milestones, JMG is spearheading a series of activities aimed at engaging key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, as well as academia. One of the highlights of its celebrations is the Road Walk for Engineering and Renewable Energy Awareness set for March 14, 2025. The event aims to promote awareness about sustainable engineering practices and the potential of renewable energy in Nigeria’s development.

As a major player in Nigeria’s engineering and energy sector, JMG is a significant employer of engineers across various disciplines, including mechanical and electrical engineering. The company’s expertise spans power generation, solar energy solutions, electrical infrastructure, air compressors, cooling systems, and vertical transportation technologies such as elevators and escalators.

JMG’s commitment to sustainability goes beyond business operations, as it continues to advocate for policies and innovations that align with global environmental goals. By combining engineering excellence with renewable energy solutions, the company is helping shape a future where Nigeria and Africa at large can thrive on sustainable power sources.
