Call For Applications: Girls Accelerating Sustainable Action (GASA) Competition 2025

The “I AM GASA” (Girl Accelerating Sustainable Action) is an initiative that aims to empower young women (ages 15-32) to accelerate sustainable action, sustainable action and emerge as leaders in their communities.

The I AM GASA Competition is calling on young women and girls from around Africa to showcase their projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on environmental sustainability, community development, and women’s empowerment.

Award

They will honor the top 4 participants with the following prizes:

  • 1st Place: $400, 1:1 mentorship sessions with an esteemed professional, and 2 media publication features (local and international).
  • 2nd Place: $300 and 1:1 mentorship sessions with an esteemed professional.
  • 3rd Place: $200 and 1:1 mentorship sessions with an esteemed professional.
  • 4th Place: $100 and recognition certificate.
  • All participants will receive certificates of participation and networking opportunities with sustainability experts.

Eligibility

  • Open to young women aged 15–32 from diverse backgrounds in Africa.

Requirements

  • Participants must submit a 2-minute video showcasing their sustainable action project or idea.
  • Videos should address issues related to environmental sustainability, community development, or gender equality.

Judging Criteria

  • Relevance: Alignment with SDGs and community needs.
  • Impact: Potential to create tangible, positive change.
  • Sustainability: Feasibility and long-term viability.
  • Innovation: Creativity and originality of the idea.

Kindly complete the form and submit your project proposal with a 2-minutes video showcasing your innovative solution aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
