Firms Launches Online Tools to Help Nigerians Combat Property Fraud
Share

In a move to reduce property fraud and provide buyers with better decision-making tools, Trustcrow has unveiled two new products—the Title Search Report (TSR) and the Property Inspection Report (PIR). These tools are designed to help Nigerians, particularly first-time homebuyers and diaspora investors, carry out background checks on properties before making financial commitments.

With the new offerings, anyone seeking to purchase houses, land, completed or uncompleted buildings can now access a fast, affordable, and reliable online platform to verify legal ownership and inspect structural quality. The basic plan for the Title Search Report is priced at N100,000, making it accessible to individuals looking for peace of mind during real estate transactions.

Trustcrow’s Managing Director explained that the company’s mission is to empower buyers with information that protects their interests and ensures safer property purchases. He noted that both the TSR and PIR are currently available in Lagos, Abuja, and Ogun State, with plans to expand to more locations. The reports can be purchased from anywhere in the world, allowing diaspora Nigerians to independently verify property details without relying solely on agents or family members.

He shared that the motivation behind the products was the widespread hardship buyers face due to fraudulent transactions. From financial loss to prolonged court battles, he said these painful experiences inspired the company to build tools that close the trust gap in Nigeria’s real estate market. The TSR helps verify the legal ownership and status of a property, while the PIR assesses the physical integrity and build quality of structures.

While due diligence tools like these have existed in some form for years, Trustcrow believes its platform sets a new standard by making the process streamlined and digitally accessible. Through a user-friendly web app, customers can order reports and receive professional analysis conducted by trusted experts.

Trustcrow’s Product Manager highlighted that the company’s offerings were developed from extensive market research and reflect the actual concerns of property buyers across Nigeria. She emphasized that the tools are not only useful for prospective buyers but also for existing property owners who want to validate ownership documents or assess structural conditions before selling or renovating.

She further explained that Trustcrow works closely with legal professionals and certified engineers to ensure the credibility of each report. For title verification, the company collaborates with lawyers and land registry officials to obtain official records. For property inspection, it partners with structural and mechanical engineers to provide detailed reports on build quality, safety, and compliance.

By basing their work on verified government records and technical evaluations, Trustcrow enables users to make informed decisions, negotiate better deals, or walk away from high-risk transactions altogether.

Trustcrow’s Sales Manager echoed the company’s commitment to protecting buyers. He said the platform is built to eliminate fraud and ensure that no fraudulent middleman stands between buyers and their dream properties.

As Nigeria’s real estate market continues to grow amid rising concerns about fraud, platforms like Trustcrow may offer a much-needed solution for a safer, more transparent property buying experience.
