To increase awareness of organic agriculture in Nigeria, the Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria (NOAN) will convene stakeholders at the organic fair technical workshop and annual general meeting in Lagos.
Theme ‘Innovative Organic Food System for National Development’, the event will create an opportunity for farmers and industry experts to connect with different value chain actors, such as policymakers, researchers, farmers, processors, and business-minded individuals.
People will have the chance to visit the exhibition stands to buy natural produce. We are expecting different guests from Lagos State officials and other bodies,” said Adeorioke Oluwagbenro, chairperson Local Organizing committee of the association.
The event, which is scheduled for 28th – 30th of April in Ikeja, Lagos, will be chaired by Ms Abisola Olusanya Lagos State Hon.Commissioner for Agriculture and food systems.
Also, there would be panel discussions with seasoned organic and health experts to discuss extensively on innovation and best organic practices urban agriculture environmental law and agric business advocacy.
In addition, the event will witness a remarkable launch of organic labels under the standard and certification committee of the association.
“We expect that participants will use the conference to join the association and enhance their visibility for business and other laudable potential in the organic and agroecology movement in Nigeria,” Oluwagbenro added.
The Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria is on a mission to coordinate and facilitate the development of sustainable organic agriculture-related activities in Nigeria.
The association also aims to drive awareness of organic agriculture in Nigeria. Interested participants can register during the event and materials and refreshments will cover part of the registration fee.
