Share

Are you a young Nigerian passionate about technology, digital rights, or data security? Do you want to gain in-demand skills that can position you for future job opportunities in one of the fastest-growing sectors? Here’s your chance!

The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Youth Development and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), is calling on tertiary students and NYSC corps members across the country to apply for the Youth Data Protection Awareness and Training Program.

About the Program

This initiative is part of NDPC’s nationwide strategy to equip Nigerian youth with essential knowledge and skills in data privacy, digital rights, and data protection compliance. With over 500,000 organizations in Nigeria now required to appoint Data Protection Officers (DPOs), this program opens doors to new and future-ready career paths.

  • Participants will undergo expert-led training sessions covering:
  • Fundamentals of data protection and privacy
  • Nigeria’s Data Protection Act (NDPA) and global standards
  •  Digital responsibility and ethical use of personal data
  •  Emerging career paths in data protection and compliance

Who Should Apply?

  • Students currently enrolled in a Nigerian university, polytechnic, or college of education
  • Serving members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)
  •  Youth aged 18–30 interested in cybersecurity, digital policy, and privacy law

Why You Should Apply

  •  Free professional training in data protection and digital ethics
  •  Certificate of participation, with access to accredited data protection certification exams
  •  Improved job prospects in the digital economy
  •  A chance to be part of Nigeria’s growing ecosystem of digital compliance professionals
  • Spaces are limited. Early application is strongly encouraged.

Selection Process

Successful applicants will be contacted via email or SMS and invited to participate in the next training cohort. Selection will be based on region, availability, and applicant interest.
