FG Backs Move to Boost Nigeria, Indonesia Trade
Share

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening economic relations with Indonesia, pledging increased collaboration with the private sector to strengthen trade and investment between both countries.

At the Mid-Year Economic Outlook held in Lagos by the Nigerian Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Entrepreneurship Development expressed the government’s readiness to back initiatives that advance bilateral growth. She confirmed the FG’s support for the upcoming Nigeria-Indonesia Investment and Trade Forum slated for October 21 to 23, 2025, in Jakarta. The event is expected to facilitate smart partnerships, increase trade volume, and unlock new investment opportunities.

She also stressed the government’s focus on Nigerian entrepreneurs, saying they are already shaping the future of the economy. She added that national policies are being refined to offer tangible, accessible support beyond theoretical frameworks.

NICCI President urged Nigerian businesses to take advantage of the 40th Indonesian Joint Expo, which will hold in Jakarta from October 15 to 19, 2025. He described the international exhibition as a vital opportunity for business collaboration and market expansion.

He also disclosed that NICCI is working closely with the Office of the Vice President and the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) to ensure coordinated support from relevant government agencies for Nigerian participation in both

events.
