Schneider Electric has launched a new range of products in West Africa aimed at helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) manage energy costs while improving electrical safety. The GoPact line, which includes a moulded case circuit breaker (MCCB) and a manual transfer switch, is designed for everyday use in small shops, housing complexes, and non-critical commercial buildings where affordability and reliability are priorities.
Opeyemi Olaniyan, Offer Manager, Power Products at Schneider Electric West Africa, explained that the GoPact range is part of the company’s initiative to make high-quality electrical solutions accessible to smaller businesses. “GoPact is crucial to the West African market because of the value it brings to our distribution channels and their customers. It is an affordable offering that allows us to compete with low-cost brands from India and China,” he said.
Unlike Schneider Electric’s premium products, which are often used in large or critical projects, the GoPact range targets low- to medium-density commercial buildings, retail outlets, cluster housing, mini-sub applications, and other non-critical installations. The products are compact, easy to install, and designed to fit non-type-tested enclosures, making them suitable for SMEs with limited budgets.
The GoPact MCCB protects against common electrical faults such as short circuits and overloads. It includes adjustable safety units and secondary protection mechanisms to reduce fault currents and comes in models supporting power ratings up to 800 amps and breaking capacities up to 70 kA. The devices are packaged sustainably, using recycled cartons and QR codes in place of paper manuals.
The GoPact manual transfer switch supports 63 to 2000 amps and features pre-fitted components for faster, safer installation, saving space in compact settings.
Through this initiative, Schneider Electric aims to provide SMEs with reliable, cost-effective power solutions, helping businesses operate efficiently while reducing energy costs in West Africa.
