The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has released the results of the 2025 June/July National Business Certificate and National Technical Certificate (NBC/NTC) examinations, showing marked improvements in both candidate performance and enrolment compared to the previous year.
A total of 92,875 candidates registered for the examinations across 1,892 centres nationwide, reflecting a 37.08 percent increase in enrolment and a 10.77 percent rise in the number of centres compared to 2024. Out of the total candidates, 89,621 were graded, with 61,104 (68.18 percent) securing five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics. Another 74,633 candidates (83.28 percent) obtained five credits and above with or without English and Mathematics.
English Language recorded a 93.10 percent pass rate, while Mathematics achieved 94.60 percent. The Registrar noted that while more candidates passed Mathematics, fewer candidates passed English this year compared to 2024.
On examination malpractice, the board reported a slight decline, with 435 candidates involved in 516 cases, compared to 349 candidates and 524 cases in the previous year.
NABTEB also announced the commencement of registration for the 2025 November/December NBC/NTC and ANBC/ANTC examinations. Prospective candidates have been advised to access the NABTEB portal or visit any state or zonal office for registration guidelines.
Reaffirming the importance of technical and vocational education, the Registrar stressed that in today’s innovation-driven economy, comprehensive Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) remains essential for national development.
