The Kelvin Jombo Foundation has launched its 2025 Business Empowerment Programme, a ₦10 million initiative aimed at supporting, inspiring, and scaling the dreams of Nigerian entrepreneurs. The scheme will provide ₦1 million each to 10 selected business owners, equipping them with the financial backing to strengthen their ventures and build sustainable enterprises.
Announcing the programme, the Chairman of the Foundation, Chief Kelvin Jombo Onumah, explained that the initiative is part of his long-standing commitment to philanthropy and nation-building. For him, birthdays are not just a time for personal celebration but an opportunity to give back and uplift others.
“On September 28 every year, my birthday, I choose to celebrate by giving back. This is my way of supporting and encouraging hardworking business minds, especially young people who are striving to build a future for themselves,” he said.
The Foundation emphasized that the programme is not merely about financial assistance but about creating a ripple effect of impact in Nigeria’s entrepreneurial landscape. By helping business owners grow, the Foundation hopes to contribute to job creation, stimulate local economies, and inspire a culture of innovation.
Entrepreneurs interested in participating have been encouraged to join the Kelvin Jombo Worship Challenge Facebook group, where full details of participation and selection guidelines are being shared. The process, according to the organisers, will be transparent and competitive, ensuring that the most promising ideas with strong potential for impact are supported.
This year’s edition of the empowerment initiative is expected to particularly benefit young Nigerians who often face challenges accessing capital to start or scale their businesses. By providing direct financial support, the programme aims to bridge funding gaps that limit creativity and growth in the small business sector.
Beyond financial backing, the Kelvin Jombo Foundation hopes the initiative will inspire other well-meaning Nigerians to adopt philanthropy as a tool for community and national development. The Foundation believes that empowering entrepreneurs today will have long-term effects on poverty reduction, economic resilience, and social transformation.
Since its inception, the Foundation has focused on initiatives that blend humanitarian support with economic empowerment. The Business Empowerment Programme is now one of its flagship projects, gaining recognition for directly impacting lives and businesses across Nigeria.
With this year’s ₦10 million commitment, the Foundation is positioning itself as a model of how private philanthropy can complement broader government and development efforts to unlock Nigeria’s entrepreneurial potential.
