Apply Now: WeNaija Campaign 5.0 Creative Youth-Led Solutions on SRH Education ( N10 Million Cash Prize)
Share

Introduction:
The Nigerian Solidarity Support Fund (NSSF) has launched the 2025 edition of its WeNaija Campaign, calling on young Nigerians to use their creativity and voice to address gaps in sexual and reproductive health (SRH) education. With a total cash prize of N10 million, this year’s theme, “Own Your Choice,” focuses on the real-life consequences of incomplete or abstinence-only sex education and how youth-led ideas can drive change.

Key Highlights:

  • Program Type: National youth creativity campaign on SRH
  • Total Prize: N10 million cash prize pool
  • Eligibility: Nigerian residents aged 18 to 35
  • Format: 2–3 minute video submitted via Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok
  •  Campaign Window: September 8 – November 8, 2025
  • Winners’ Showcase: December 6, 2025
  • Application Link: WeNaija community

Why This Matters for Young Nigerians:
Sexual and reproductive health remains one of the most under-discussed yet impactful topics affecting young people in Nigeria. Incomplete education on consent, contraception, STI prevention, and youth-friendly services has significant medical, psychological, social, and economic consequences. Through this campaign, NSSF is empowering youth to tell their stories, highlight gaps, and offer practical solutions that schools, families, healthcare providers, and policymakers can adopt.

Previous editions of WeNaija have amplified youth voices on pressing social issues, influencing public conversations and policy recommendations. The 5.0 campaign builds on that legacy, offering a platform not just for advocacy but also for recognition and financial support.

What Participants Need to Know:

  • Applicants are required to create a 2–3 minute video showing how inadequate SRH education affects their lives or communities and proposing actionable solutions.
  • Submissions can take many forms, including short documentaries, spoken word, visual storytelling, or animated explainers. All entries must inform, empower, and support rather than shame or encourage unsafe practices.

Judging Criteria Explained:
Entries will be evaluated on storytelling quality, creativity, originality, relevance to the theme, clarity of message, and how solution-focused they are. Videos that connect SRH education gaps to real-world impacts and present thoughtful solutions will have the strongest chance of winning.

Tips for a Strong Entry:

* Focus on a specific SRH gap and why it matters.
* Use storytelling that is personal, relatable, and impactful.
* Offer clear, actionable solutions that can make a difference.
* Ensure your message empowers and educates rather than criticizes.

How to Participate:

1. Register as a member of the WeNaija community — registration is mandatory to enter.
2. Create a 2–3 minute video addressing the campaign theme.
3. Post the video on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok with the hashtag #OwnYourChoice and tag @WeNaija_byNSSF(Instagram/TikTok) or WeNaija Community (Facebook).
4. Submit before 11:59 p.m. on November 8, 2025.

The campaign will conclude with the WeNaija YouthFest and Winners’ Showcase on December 6, 2025, where the most impactful submissions will be celebrated.
