Senator Empowers 400 Farmers in Ekiti North with Inputs to Boost Productivity

The senator representing Ekiti North Senatorial District, Cyril Fasuyi, has provided farm inputs and cash support to 400 farmers in the district to enhance agricultural productivity.

Speaking during the distribution in Ido Ekiti, Ido/Osi Local Government Area, Fasuyi said the initiative aimed to empower farmers, increase their output, and improve revenue, while also tackling poverty in the community.

“Four hundred farmers in this senatorial district are benefitting today. This support will continue so that many more farmers can benefit. Increased productivity means more food and better livelihoods for our people,” Fasuyi said.

Each beneficiary received a carton of herbicides, bags of fertilisers, a sprayer, and cash to support their farming activities. The senator also disclosed plans to invest N200 million in training 40 graduates from the district in Information and Communications Technology, alongside facilitating federal employment opportunities for job seekers.

Fasuyi further promised to enhance community infrastructure, including more boreholes, school renovations, solar lighting installations, and distribution of educational materials to students.

Farmers expressed gratitude for the support. Mr. Amos Olatunde said the assistance would help boost productivity and improve income for families. Mrs. Kemi Olaleye, a local APC chieftain, praised the senator for giving back to his constituency.

The initiative aligns with broader efforts by state representatives to support farmers and improve livelihoods, with Governor Biodun Oyebanji recently commending National Assembly members for initiatives aimed at enhancing residents’ welfare.
