The National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) has announced the NOTAP Technology and Innovation Summit (NTIS 2025), scheduled for November 6 and 7, 2025, in Victoria Island, Lagos. The event, themed “Harnessing R&D and Innovation Potentials of Nigeria’s STI Ecosystem”, will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, development partners and startups to chart sustainable pathways for Nigeria’s innovation economy.
According to the Director-General of NOTAP, the summit will serve as a strategic platform for advancing conversations on technology transfer, intellectual property rights, innovation policy and the commercialisation of scientific research. She noted that the goal is to accelerate the conversion of research and creativity into viable enterprises capable of driving national development and economic competitiveness.
The two-day summit will feature ministerial addresses and keynote presentations from leaders in technology and policy, alongside high-level panel discussions on issues such as local content development, intellectual property sovereignty and building a workforce ready for artificial intelligence and advanced technologies.
One of the major unveilings at the summit will be Project NOVA – Nigeria’s Outsourcing Value Acceleration initiative – aimed at positioning the country as a competitive outsourcing destination. The event will also promote the NOTAP Local Vendor Policy across sectors to strengthen indigenous participation in technology markets.
Participants will have access to workshops and breakout sessions on intellectual property management, funding access and talent development, as well as exhibitions showcasing innovations from startups, research institutions and technology companies. A hackathon and pitch session will provide a platform for emerging innovators and young entrepreneurs to present scalable solutions.
The summit will include a dedicated innovation pavilion designed to spotlight emerging technologies, research outputs and strategic partnerships, reinforcing NOTAP’s mission to bridge the gap between invention and industry.
Organised in partnership with Crestsage Limited, the 2025 summit aims to deepen collaboration across government, academia and the private sector to create an ecosystem where research outcomes translate into thriving enterprises—particularly for startups and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises seeking opportunities in the knowledge economy.
