Share

Sino-Africa Green Finance Alliance (SAGFA) Fellowship, is a fully funded professional programme dedicated to building African leadership in green finance. Led by the Africa-China Centre for Policy and Advisory (ACCPA) and supported by the African Climate Foundation (ACF), this fellowship is designed to equip policy, research and industry professionals with the tools to drive sustainable economic transformation across the continent.

About the Fellowship
The SAGFA Fellowship delivers specialised training in green finance, climate policy and sustainable industrial development. Delivered entirely online in its pilot phase, it offers flexibility and accessibility for changemakers across Africa. Future editions may include in-person residencies and industry exposure, depending on programme evolution and funding.

Why This Matters
As Africa faces the realities of climate change and industrial transition, expertise in green finance is becoming essential. This fellowship fills a critical gap by empowering professionals to design, influence and implement financial mechanisms that enable climate resilience and low-carbon growth. It prepares leaders who can move beyond advocacy to building real, finance-driven solutions.

Eligibility Criteria
Ideal candidates include mid- to senior-level professionals such as:

  • Policymakers and public sector officials
  • Researchers and think-tank analysts
  • Development practitioners and programme advisors
  • Finance, energy, manufacturing and agribusiness leaders
  • Sustainability and investment officers

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to applying green finance concepts within their organisations or national contexts.

Program Benefit

  • Fully funded, 8-week virtual fellowship
  • Expert-led sessions and case-based learning
  • Africa-China collaborative knowledge exchange
  • Capstone projects focused on country or sector challenges
  • Access to a growing alumni network shaping climate policy in Africa

How to Apply
